Stage Stop Candy

Josh Fedele and his family own Stage Stop Candy in Dennis Port. For Josh Fedele, chocolate-making runs in the family.

Josh grew up helping his father, Ron, make delicious treats in his stores – Fedele’s Chocolates – in Pembroke and Plymouth.

While the Fedeles were making a name on the South Shore, Ray and Donna Hebert were building up Stage Stop Candy in the historic Jonathan P. Edwards House in Dennis Port. And when the Heberts were looking to retire, they called Ron who immediately thought of Josh.

Josh and his wife, Mandi, packed up their family and moved to the Cape, buying Stage Stop Candy in 2017.

Nearly everything they sell is homemade and has their special spin on it — fudge, peanut butter cups, creams, mints, caramels, turtles, toffees, jellies, barks, clusters, solid chocolates, and chocolate-covered Oreos, Twinkies, Devil Dogs, pretzels, and more.

While many of recipes date back to the 1920s, Josh and Mandi who now run the shop with their children, Stevie and Beki, are always on the lookout for a new combination or experiment.

With a push from Stevie and Beki, they started offering freeze-dried candies in 2023. They take a traditional candy, such as Skittles, and transform them into something new, changing the flavor and texture in the process. So, Skittles morph from chewy to airy and popcorn-like. The line has quickly become a fan favorite.

While visiting the store in Dennis Port is a sweet experience, Josh and Mandi have broadened their reach with online ordering and even curbside pickup. Plus, they offer a rewards program for repeat customers.
