Today, The Coop caught up with Meredith Ruff, owner of Forte Fitness in Hyannis.
What is your business? Forte Fitness Center, 865 Attucks Lane in Hyannis, offers small-group training, boxing, boot camp, resistance band training, and Rock Steady Boxing for Parkinson’s disease. Other specialty programs include Boxing for Kids, Actively Aging, and Ninja.
How did you get started? After volunteering for a Rock Steady Boxing program during the summer of 2017 (for Parkinson’s disease) and becoming aware of the great need for more classes, I decided to start my own program.
What’s the most challenging part of running your business? Getting all the administrative work done, which keeps me from spending time around our awesome clients.
What’s the biggest risk you took in your business? Expanding into such a large space after only being open for 18 months.
Are there any community partnerships or ways you give back that you’d like mentioned? We look forward to sharing property with CORD and together developing fitness programs for many disabled populations on the Cape.
Can you share an interesting or fun tidbit about your business? Our newest program is a Ninja Warrior program for kids!
